maybe, maybe...

Well today I sat down and looked for a Fairbanks school website so i could see the calendar to find when their spring break was. I found it at the end of march (last week). I was starting to think it wasnt going to happen just because so much time is going to go by it will be like christmas where at the last minute we really decided to look but it was outrageously expensive. And that what starting to eat at me for unhealthy, non christian reasons, I was not having compassion on Cynthia and Dale for their busy schedual in Fairbanks and i was afraid they would "wait" till it was too late to tell us not really allowing myself to think that "wait" was maybe not the right phrase was they were too busy to remember... a much kinder approach to the situation.

Anyway my next step is to call brice and see if they have narrowed down their start time to a date or a rough time to see if the end of march will work or not. If thats a go, tickets are looking like they will be about 811 dollars a piece round trip, not only that but we have frequent flyer mile tickets that can be reschedualed to cover about half that cost. Then ill call Cynthia and dale and lay it on them.

Im a little stressed right now because the fuel pump quit working, after being told "take the cover off using the T handle allen wrenches on the bench in the warm warehouse. Then PULL OUT (he didnt say it exactly like that i was just emphasizing it) the bottom chip and compair it to another pump we have in the shed to see if we can swap the chips out"... We said our good byes then i got a call back right away saying "dont be poking your fingers around inside there though the power is still on"... well i did that and now the pump is all haywire, the symptoms have totally changed, and the finger is being pointed at me, i was told "thats why i told you to just look at them, i home ya didnt hurt it more" and it was mentioned "did you shut the power off"... I was never told to shut it off, infact i was 1 not told where the breaker was and 2 he told me to be careful becasue the power would still be on... Its hard knowing how expensive the pump parts are, because now im made to feel guilty when im just doing what im told and 1 of the pumps has been down like 2 solid months and should NEVER have been touched by me, it should have been looked at by dale or a technitian, but because it was put on hold for so long and now we are going to have a snow machine race comming through i have to do it all... even take the blame for a pump that quit working before i touched it...

Other than that though, kimberly and i are doing good. working hard in the store, putting shipment away. I have a headache today, not sure why, Ive had it since i got up this morning. although im happy to say we did make it out for another walk today... unfourtunatly it wasnt our full 1hr 20min walk it was just about 1hr and 5 min because we had to be back by 915 so we walked just over 30 minutes away then turned around and came home... it didnt make my headache go away but it really feels good to keep it up!

We love you ALL and miss you SO much! We cannot wait to see ya!

Hey--I'm in Alaska, so we are actually in the same state.
Check out the pics of moose and eagles on my blog--we saw 15 moose today.
Feels like I've come home!

Hey Andy, The pump woes sound like a real cause for a headache to me. Do you still have some ability to pump fuel? It sounds like a no win proposition to me. High risk for uncertain reward.

The photo of the grader is just incredible. Why are they pushing it out there?

I am taking H to the airport in the am. She is traveling to S.F. to visit Katie. We have somehow ended up traveling to the same area alone on consecutive weekends.
My trip came up after we had booked hers. Oh well.

Hey paul again great to hear from you.... too bad about being split up out of town.

and yes the pump situation sucks. its hard because its obvious i should not beat fault, heck, i shouldnt even have to touch it, it should have been delt with by him in the month worth of time he has spent out here since the pump broke... While i have NO problem helping him out, it feels great every time it works out... i just dont like how i was told to do one thing, then when that messed it up more, im told thats why he didnt want me to do what i did and what can i do about it, fight him? Its like with all my heart i want to explain my case and lift the burden off of my shoulders, but at the same time i dont know if its worth arguing about it or if i should just bite my tounge and ride it out.

as for the tractor... he is smoothing the ice and snow out for the dog races at the end of march... they start out kind of like a motorcross race, a shootout. The specific race they are prepping it for is "the folger 80" which is a man that lives 20 miles down river, its a 2 day race (down and back, down and back).

Hey andy-if you can- maybe you could take some pictures of the fuel pump and e-mail em to me and maybe i could figure it out-i recently had to tear into our fuel pump at the center that we use for fueling our vans and fix it-it was a "mcgiver" moment. if you have a similar pump they arent to complex-just hard to get into because of all the sheilding and grounding and the whole pressure feedback shut off deal-hang in there and dont take that stuff personal--if it can be fixed you can do it-your "racecort" repairs and modifications are legendary !!---all our love and prayers, dad.

hey pops... no comments on the tractor? i had pictures of your face contorting in fear in my head. Infact before i ran out to take the picture i told everyone around me in the store that "my dad says he would never go on the ice because hes afraid of falling through, and here this multiple ton tractor is driving around on it (haha).

as for the pump... i do have pictures, because i was going to send them to dale, but dale will be comming back monday with his pump mechanic for the night. Its a fairly complicated system and, there is a computer in the store that turns the pumps on and off... and since i pulled the chips out, the computer no longer recognizes the pump. not only that but there is a key pad behind a locked door, there is a code you put in and it will completely disconnect the pump from the computer controls so you just have to lift the handle... those buttons no longer beep when you press them (they still work they just dont make sound like the first couple times i did it). then its all computer boards inside the pump brain... basically im sure a couple circuts were fried. which nothing but a board replacement will fix that

Actually I was sooooo stunned to see that thing on the ice that I could hardly reply. I still suggest a life preserver be worn...and a wet suit...an air cannister with respirator with 4 hours of air so you can float under the ice for a while...2 waterproof torches to start a fire with when you float free. Or, stay off the ice!
